How to get the help you need.

All our patients require referrals. This can be done through any medical health provider.

From here the referral will be triaged, based on the patient’s necessity for Orthotics. The patient will be contacted to inform them of an appointment time, date and location. If you need any assistance through this process, please contact us here.

Who can refer?

Almost any health provider can send a referral to us. This includes the DHB Health Practitioners, General Practitioners, Cerebral Palsy Work groups, Maori Health Providers, ACC Case Managers and more.

Our postal address is: PO Box 22 Ashhurst 4810. If you’re unsure if your provider can refer you, phone our office on 021 924 575 or send us an email and we can help. enquiries@g20.co.nz

What information do I need for a referral?

We treat the patient, not the injury. This means we look at every factor influencing the patient’s mobility needs. This includes lifestyle, work needs, injury, co-morbidities
The fact that people who have disease or condition also have one or more other diseases or conditions
and any other medical conditions.

As such, relevant medical notes should always be included with the referral. That way, when we custom build the solution, we know exactly what it needs to possess.

I live Rurally, can I still work with g20?

Yes. We understand that distance between a rural home and the city is a huge obstacle. Cost of travel, time off work, discomfort, and health issues all add up to inconvenience for the patient and make it difficult to turn up to appointments.

We’re no strangers to getting our boots dirty. Our staff can be the inconvenienced ones who travel to you in the rural centres, bringing their kit to assess, measure, teach and advise. We’ve run rural pop-up clinics in places such as Raetihi and Taihape — and we can run one in your neck of the woods.

Where a face-to-face consultation is difficult or urgent, g20’s clinicians are experienced in conducting “virtual consultations” with the patient by telephone or Zoom.

Talk to your local health provider and request they contact g20 to ask for this service. So we can get you back in the right sized gumboots, living and working safely and more comfortably in your own environment.

How can I better utilise Orthotics services for my patients?

Orthotics covers a lot, with solutions that are both simple and complex. Whilst the best course of action is always to get in touch with an Orthotics expert like ourselves, here are some handy resources for some of the more rudimental Orthotics practices.

Who pays for my Orthotic solutions?

Getting funding for Orthotics depends largely on where you’re located – and who your DHB has a contract with. Previously we have had patients funded through ACC, DHBs, and privately.
